ABOUT OUR PRODUCT
What is a 420 GSM t-shirt?
GSM stands for grams per square meter, it's how fabric weight is measured. The higher the number, the thicker and denser the shirt. A standard t-shirt from most brands is 150–180 GSM. A "premium" brand typically sits around 200–240 GSM. At 420 GSM, TGTHR's Signature Heavyweight Tee is nearly three times heavier than a standard tee and significantly denser than any mainstream competitor. That density means the fabric drapes cleanly from the shoulders without clinging, holds its shape wash after wash, and resists wrinkling, all while feeling remarkably soft thanks to our 5-step wash process.
What makes TGTHR different from other heavyweight t-shirt brands?
Three things:
1. Fabric weight. At 420 GSM, our trademark HeavySoft fabric is the heaviest and softest in the world.
2. Per-size engineering. Instead of designing one sample size and scaling it up with a formula called "grading," every TGTHR size from M to 3XL has its own independent pattern, with unique shoulder width, torso length, arm openings, and hem drop, built specifically for how that size actually sits on a real body.
3. Engineered flattering fit. Built across 15+ measurement points using fit feedback from 100+ real men, not standard grading. It slims you down if you're carrying extra weight, makes you look athletic if you're slim, and makes you look more built if you're already athletic. Our founder, Andres Izquieta, spent 2 decades in fashion before creating TGTHR because he couldn't find a tee that flattered his own build. This brand was engineered from the inside out to work for every body type.
What does "per-size engineered" mean?
Most t-shirt brands design a shirt in one sample size (usually Medium), perfect the fit on that size, and then use a formula called grading to scale the pattern up or down. Grading adds fixed increments to each measurement, a half inch here, an inch there, uniformly. The problem is that human bodies don't scale uniformly. A man who wears a 2XL isn't just a proportionally bigger version of a man who wears a Medium.
Per-size engineering means every size has its own unique pattern, built from scratch for the proportions of the man who actually wears that size. Our M isn't a scaled-down L, and our 3XL isn't a scaled-up XL. We spent over 50 hours testing fit across 100+ men of different heights, weights, and body types to get each size right.
What is TGTHR's 5-step wash process?
Every TGTHR shirt goes through a 5-step wash process during manufacturing, before it's ever cut and sewn into a shirt. This pre-washes and pre-shrinks the fabric so the shirt you receive is already broken-in and soft from day one, and won't change shape after your first wash. Many brands skip this step to save cost, which means their shirts shrink unpredictably at home, the collar tightens, the torso shortens, and the proportions shift. TGTHR's process ensures the fit on day one is the fit on day two hundred.
What fabric is TGTHR made from?
100% cotton at 420 GSM. No synthetic blends, no polyester, no spandex. Pure cotton breathes better than cotton-polyester blends, which matters for heat and moisture management no matter your build. The cotton goes through our 5-step wash process during manufacturing to pre-shrink the fabric and give it a soft, broken-in feel without sacrificing any of the structure that makes heavyweight cotton so flattering.
Who founded TGTHR?
TGTHR was founded by Andres Izquieta, a 2-decade fashion industry founder. His prior ventures generated hundreds of millions in revenue, served millions of customers, and manufactured tens of millions of units of apparel. After stepping away from the industry in 2018, Andres launched TGTHR in 2026 because despite two decades of designing clothes for men, he still couldn't find a t-shirt that fit and flattered his build properly.
HOW WE COMPARE
How does TGTHR compare to True Classic?
True Classic's heavyweight crew is 150-170 GSM with a 60/40 cotton-polyester blend. TGTHR is 420 GSM (~2.5x heavier), 100% cotton with no synthetic blends. TGTHR uses per-size engineering rather than standard grading.
How does TGTHR compare to Buck Mason?
Buck Mason's Field Spec Heavy Tee is 310 GSM, 100% cotton. TGTHR is 420 GSM (35% heavier), also 100% cotton, but extends to 3XL and uses per-size engineering. Buck Mason is built for slim guys, while TGTHR is engineered to flatter every body type and offers a denser fabric weight.
How much do TGTHR t-shirts cost?
A single Signature Heavyweight Tee is $75. Multi-packs offer significant savings, up to 40% off.
Bundle pricing is how most of our customers purchase. You can build your own custom bundle mixing black and white tees here.
What sizes does TGTHR offer?
We currently offer M, L, XL, 2XL, and 3XL. Each size is independently engineered with its own pattern, not graded up from a single sample size.
SIZING & FIT
How do I pick the right size?
Each product page includes a size chart. We recommend referencing it before purchasing. Because every TGTHR size is independently engineered, the fit is more consistent than brands that use standard grading, the proportions are built for your actual body, not mathematically scaled from a different size. You can also check out our before-and-after visuals, where you can see guys who may be similar in height and weight to you, so you can get a good compare-and-contrast visual reference.
If you have questions about fit or size recommendations, email us at info@tgthr.shop.
Do your items run true to size?
Our relaxed-fit tee is engineered to flatter every body type, it slims you down if you're carrying extra weight, makes you look athletic if you're slim, and makes you look more built if you're already athletic. It feels relaxed the moment you put it on, never boxy or baggy, with a tapered fit through the chest and sleeves that holds its shape. It will run bigger than most tees on the market.
Is TGTHR good for bigger guys?
Yes, TGTHR's engineered fit flatters every body type, including fuller builds. The 420 GSM fabric drapes instead of clinging, which creates a cleaner, more structured silhouette no matter your shape. No more tugging at the hem. No more shirts that vacuum-seal to your midsection. Available in sizes M through 3XL, with every size independently engineered to slim, sharpen, or fill out exactly where you need it.
Is TGTHR good for slim or athletic guys?
Yes. The fit works both ways, it sharpens your silhouette if you're slim, and fills you out through the chest and shoulders if you're already athletic. Every size is engineered to flatter the body wearing it, not just fuller builds.
Why does heavyweight fabric fit better than lightweight fabric?
Lightweight fabric (150–200 GSM) clings. It follows every contour of your body, which can mean visible pulling and tightness at the midsection, the thing that makes you tug at your shirt all day. Heavyweight fabric (300+ GSM) drapes. It has enough density to fall from your shoulders in a clean line, creating structure and a more defined silhouette without any compression. Think of it as the difference between a bedsheet draped over your body versus a curtain. The heavier the fabric, the less it clings, which is why so many guys notice the biggest difference when switching to a true heavyweight tee.
Do you offer size small?
At this moment, we don't.
Why does the collar feel tight?
The collar is designed to be snug on purpose. This keeps it structured, clean, and prevents stretching over time.
On first wear, it may feel more fitted than what you're used to. After 1–2 wears (and a wash + hang dry), it relaxes slightly while maintaining its shape.
That initial snugness goes away. The structure stays.
Why are the sleeves tighter than normal?
Our sleeves are intentionally tapered, not baggy.
Most t-shirts are cut wide, which creates a boxy look. We engineered our sleeves to contour your arms and elevate your overall silhouette.
If it feels different at first, that's because it is.
Will the shirt loosen up?
Yes, slightly, in the right places.
The fabric softens and adapts after wear, while the structure (collar, sleeves, shape) stays intact.
Think of it as breaking in, not wearing out.
PRODUCT CARE
How should I wash it?
• Machine wash cold
• Hang dry (recommended)
Avoid high heat drying, as it may cause shrinkage and affect the fit.
Will the shirts shrink?
Minimal shrinkage may occur if washed or dried on high heat. Because TGTHR shirts go through a 5-step pre-wash process during manufacturing, the fabric is already pre-shrunk before you receive it. However, home drying machines may vary and impact shrinkage. We recommend cold wash + hang dry for the best long-term results.
